About New Town, Kolkata

New Town (Rajarhat–New Town) is a carefully planned satellite city adjacent to Kolkata, in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Established in 2008 and designated by the Government of India as both a “Solar City” and a “Smart Green City”, it has grown into eastern India's premier technology and business hub, hosting major firms such as TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant and Accenture alongside a growing FinTech corridor. Wide green avenues, an Eco Park, and landmarks such as the iconic Biswa Bangla Gate and the Mother's Wax Museum give the township a modern, spacious character.

Getting There

New Town is exceptionally well connected. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU), Kolkata's international airport, is only a short drive away via Biswa Bangla Sarani, the main expressway linking the township to the airport and the rest of the city. The area is served by frequent buses and app-based taxis, and the upcoming Orange Line of the Kolkata Metro will add direct rapid-transit access. A wide range of hotels — including international brands such as Novotel, Westin, Taj and Fairfield by Marriott — are located within New Town and the neighbouring Salt Lake area.

Detailed travel directions, accommodation blocks and visa guidance will be added here closer to the conference dates.
