IIT Kharagpur Research Park, Kolkata

AsianHOST 2026 will be held at the IIT Kharagpur Research Park in New Town, Kolkata, India. An initiative of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, the Research Park is an integrated ecosystem built to foster collaborative research, entrepreneurship and innovation through close partnerships between industry and academia. Located in New Town — the business and educational hub of eastern India — it combines IIT Kharagpur's research strengths with the connectivity of metropolitan Kolkata.

Conference Facilities

Spread over 1.8 lakh square feet of centrally air-conditioned space, the Research Park offers everything a conference of this scale needs under one roof: a state-of-the-art auditorium seating more than 400 people, conference rooms and seminar halls, co-working and collaboration spaces, prototype and research laboratories, classrooms, a cafeteria, and on-site guest accommodation.

About New Town, Kolkata

New Town (Rajarhat–New Town) is a carefully planned satellite city adjacent to Kolkata, in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Established in 2008 and designated by the Government of India as both a “Solar City” and a “Smart Green City”, it has grown into eastern India's premier technology and business hub, hosting major firms such as TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant and Accenture alongside a growing FinTech corridor. Getting There

1. From Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU)

Distance: ~15 km

By taxi / cab: App-based cabs (Uber, Ola, Yatri Sathi) or prepaid airport taxis offer direct connectivity via Major Arterial Road (South-East) or Biswa Bangla Sarani towards Action Area II.
By bus: Board a bus from the airport towards Eco Park / Unitech / Karunamoyee. Get down near Chinar Park or Akankha More and take an auto-rickshaw / e-rickshaw to Action Area II.

2. From Major Railway Stations in Kolkata

A. Howrah Railway Station (HWH) — ~20 km

By taxi / cab: Take a direct yellow taxi or Uber / Ola / Yatri Sathi via AJC Bose Road Flyover / Maa Flyover to EM Bypass and Major Arterial Road, New Town.
By public bus: Direct buses running towards Unitech, Sapoorji, or New Town Bus Stand (heading toward Action Area II/III) are available.

B. Sealdah Railway Station (SDAH) — ~16 km

By taxi / cab: Drive via Beliaghata Main Road → EM Bypass → New Town Major Arterial Road.
By bus: Catch buses heading towards Salt Lake Sector V / New Town Action Area II from the Sealdah station bus stop.

C. Shalimar Railway Station (SHM) — ~25 km

By taxi / cab: Route via Kona Expressway / Vidyasagar Setu → AJC Bose Road Flyover → Maa Flyover → EM Bypass → New Town.

3. By Kolkata Metro

Line 6 / Yellow Line: Serves areas near Sector V, Chinar Park, and Rabindra Tirtha.
Green Line (East-West Metro): Take the Metro to Salt Lake Sector V Station. From Sector V, take an auto-rickshaw, bus, or cab (approx. 7–9 km) to Action Area II, Rajarhat.

4. From IIT Kharagpur Main Campus (Kharagpur)

By train: Take any Howrah-bound local or express train from Kharagpur Junction (KGPR) to Howrah Station (~2 hours). From Howrah Station, follow the route above.
By road (drive / private vehicle): ~140 km, 3.5–4 hours via NH 16 (Kolkata–Mumbai Highway) → Vidyasagar Setu (Second Hooghly Bridge) → AJC Bose Road Flyover → Maa Flyover → EM Bypass → Major Arterial Road (New Town).
